My childhood was a time of fun and games. The time where you don’t have a care in the world.  I brought a picture of me and my cousins when we were little because throughout my childhood and today, my cousins are very important to me. They are always there for me when I need them, and even now, though we are thousands of miles apart we are always there for each other to give support and help each other through rough times. The other artifact I brought is a picture of Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story, because Toy Story was my favorite movie growing up.  It was one of the first movies to teach me a lesson about accepting other people and friendship.  I must have watched it like a million times from the time it came out to now. I just think that Toy Story and Disney movies in general were a big part of my childhood.

Culture is a complex word; it can have many different meanings. The dictionary definition is:“The totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought”. That’s only one definition out of like ten, but even to me the true meaning of the word is unclear to me. I consider myself part of the Hispanic/Argentinean culture because I was born in Argentina and I lived there for ten years so the culture and pretty much everything about it grew on me over the years. That is what the mate represents. I also consider myself part of the “metalhead” culture because I listen to metal and most of my close friends are “metalheads” so we identify with that type of music and lifestyle, that is what the chain represents.

My two social issues are immigration and social equality. I guess these two kind of go together seeing as how my views on immigration are basically social equality. I brought a picture of the border crossing sign and a picture of Ernesto “Che” Guevara.  These two pictures well represent what I care about as far as society is concerned.  I care about the immigrants because we are not criminals. First of all, America is a nation of immigrants no matter how you look at it. In some way or another, whether it be European immigrants, Hispanic immigrants, Asian/Pacific Islander immigrants or any kind of immigrant; we all come to America in search of a better life. Che Guevara’s picture represents him being one of the starters of the revolution in Latin America. He was also really passionate about fair treatment of the people regardless of their social status, regardless of what anyone else tells me, and he died fighting for what he believed in.

HEAD

My goals for life aren't very clear at the moment, I know I want to go to college and then go to live in some big city such as Berlin or some European city. This is because my ancestors are from Western Europe. Cities like Berlin or the Barcelona they lived in practically 100 years ago are very different to those cities in the present day.

EAR

My ears are represented by what I consider my two favorite albums ever, Megadeth’s Peace Sells and Death’s Sound of Perseverance.  These albums are masterpieces of music and I love to listen to this type of music in general. This type of music is heavy metal and I love listening to it because of the heaviness and speed it has. It also has comforted me during my darkest hours and gone with me through my happiest times.

HEART

My passion at the moment is music, more specifically guitar playing. This is why I have the acoustic guitar and the electric guitar. The acoustic is exactly the same guitar I got 2 years ago for my 15th birthday and that was my first official guitar. This guitar sparked my passion for playing and now 2 years after I still have my acoustic. The only difference is that now I bought an electric and I use it a lot more than my acoustic. The flying V represents my dream guitar that someday I hope to buy because it was the guitar that Kirk Hammett of Metallica used to play back in the early days during the 80s when they were actually worth listening to.

HANDS

I have a lot of hobbies but my main hobbies, besides playing guitar, are playing xbox 360 and swimming. The Xbox 360 represents the years I've wasted in front of that thing playing Halo 2 and Halo 3 online with my friends. Despite that, it was worth it because I had tons of fun. I've been swimming since I was little and it's always been a big part of my life. Now in high school, I am part of the swim team. Even though last year I was only in it for about 2 weeks because I joined really late into the season and then I an whole accident which broke my nose, but that's another story. This year I hope to join the team again and to actually be in it through the whole season and participate in the meets and get at least 2nd place in one of them.
