   The artifact that I chose is one of my mom and me when I was younger. I chose this one in particular because in this picture it's just the two of us and it makes me feel special.I was about almost a year old and it was taken in my abuelita's (grandma's) backyard.

The second artifact I chose is a rosary that is very old. It's the oldest thing I own. It was given to my abuelita (grandma) by her father. When he passed, she decided that I was the right person to have it, so she gave it to me, in memory of my great grandpa. It's something that I will always have with me and hopefully pass on.

To represent my culture I chose a Quetzal,which is what money is called in Guatemala. I chose this (quetzal) because it's something important, not just in Guatemala but elsewhere. The Quetzal is made of plastic now, and on it there are lots of little pictures that show the Mayan side of it which, by the way, fascinates me. In the picture, there's a front view so that viewers can look at it..

For my community, I picked a picture of really strong looking hands, holding on to each other, like a hand shake.

In this picture there is a lot of meaning in it. Some of the meanings I see are agreement, safety, communication, strength, and friendliness, which is what to me makes a good community when people decide to participate.

   The social issues that I decided to choose are the gas pump for gas prices and the earth riding a bike with a recycling sign on it for recycling. I chose these two because they take a big part in my family, and not just personally, but also around the world.

    Now on recycling, it's something that I, but not a lot of people, do. It's important to me because if there isn't any of it going on, the world's just going to waste a lot quicker than it is now. I would want this world to be here for the generations to come. If we recycle it would really slow down global warming.

With the gas prices being so expensive, people who don't make much money at work, don't really get to go for a drive that much which can be a good thing for some people because it stops a lot of pollution.

But for others it can cause something very serious.

This cap is what motivates me to want to go to

school and graduate. I also want to be able to work with

children, mentally and physically, to help them out in any situation.

This is my favorite artwork piece. It was done by my favorite artist M.C. Escher. The other picture is of Onyx, my dog, whom I love very much.

I love to go to the movies. It's one of my favorite places to go. I hope to travel a lot when I get the chance and Paris is somewhere I wish to go.
