One major problem in my society is the homeless rate in California. I love the city I live in, but sometimes it has its negatives. Skid Row is a street that is known for homeless people, and it is on the rise. I think the only reason the homeless rate is going up is because of the inflation and the prices of everything from food, housing, and clothing. That's going to affect my future. So to keep from being in that desperate position, I must work hard, and never stop finding the urge for knowledge, stay away from drugs and alcohol, and always spend my money wisely. |

This is me when I was 1,2, & 3 years old. At that time I was a young genius and rolled everywhere with my dad. My genius kind of slowed down when I got older and wanted to become more social, but my dad straightened that out by the time I reached the seventh grade. If you have not noticed yet, my dad had me lookin' fresh and I'm happy that he did. I still think that good looks and brains runs in the family. |
| This flag is a flag that belongs to my dad. I know that that this flag has meant a lot to the African American community. The three colors on this flag are red, black, and green. The red in this flag stands for the blood that was shed during the 1800s during slavery. The black stands for the skin of the African people during the 1800s. The green stands for the "motherland" during slavery. This flag means to me that there were ansestors that have died for me to live a better life, so it would be awful of me if I fail in school or not do anything with my life. |

My iPod has saved me in so different ways. I wake up and listen to it, and go to bed listening to it. I just about live for music and just all genres. On my iPod I have hip-hop,rock, alternative, punk, jazz, electronic, and reggae. The only genre I don't have is country. I have not found a lot of interest in that genre yet. Music has helped me stay focused and receive higher grades in school- only jazz music though. I always use my ipod and Apple has changed my life.

This is my sketch book. It has all my future dreams in it. My future dream is to own my own street clothing store that will be known all over the world. Inside this sketch book there are designs for clothing, business plans, and different logos. I realized this is something that I want to do for a living when I realized my excitement for tennis shoes and street clothing, not high fashion in Paris. I set this dream so it can be accomplished in the future, and I will take the right classes in college and never give up until my business is a multi-million dollar corporation known all over the world!

heart - family & friends
This bear was a gift given to me by the principal of my elementary school during my culmination. My elementary school is where I had the best memories of my life. This bear has a dream catcher on it, a bracelet and a rubberband. The dream catcher was given to me by my younger cousin Isabele. She had a birthday party and she wanted to give that to me for a gift before I left. The friendship bracelet was given to me by one of my friends, Valia. She gave me this bracelet for a Christmas gift and I have always held on to it. The rubber band on it belonged to my little sister Muneerah. She brought it into my room one day and I have never given it back to her.

I painted this piece of art last year at St. Elmo's Village, a small gallery very close to my house (walking distance). I decided to go paint one weekend and the teacher didn't assign a task for us to paint. He just said paint and that's what I did. The painting started as a sunset but I decided to change and make it a very colorful face. My dad has held on to this priceless piece of art in his office. I love my art and I have a feeling that others will too.
